Bathing in the river

Our campsite in the Dordogne is lucky enough to be crossed by the river Dronne, which is a fantastic playground for children. It really is a joy to be able to play surrounded by nature and, especially, to cool off from the Périgord sunshine in the cool waters of the river.

The wooden pontoon is often busier than the campsite’s water park. The quality of the river water together with its pebble bed (water shoes are recommended) make the river Dronne a playground that is particularly appreciated by our young campers as well as their parents; together they can build stone dams and have rubber ring races.

Younger children can enjoy making sandcastles on the white sandy beach (we’re in the Dordogne!) whilst the older children are in the water.
And why not ‘go with the flow’? Whether you’re on a boat or a rubber ring, let the river take you to Brantôme, or maybe even further if you’re feeling more adventurous.
